MAY 2019 The San Antonio real estate market is indeed alive, strong and very affordable!

Home buyers started their summer shopping in May, causing total sales to jump 10 percent to 3,608 homes sold during the month, according to the Multiple Listing Service Report for the San Antonio Market Area. The average price has increased to $274,238 (up from last month's $267,071 and last year's $258,352). Compared to other top 10 US cities, this is very affordable.

Inventory continues to remain low with only 3.8 months available. The low inventory means increased demand so for those looking to move, this is a good time to think about putting your house on the market. The majority of homes are sold in the mid-range $200K-$500K.

Buyers do not be discouraged. Even though inventory is tight, there are still thousands of properties on the market, with May reporting over 10,000 active listings available.
